Senior Program Officer at the Fetzer Institute

Xiaoan Li, Ph.D. in higher education and organizational change, is a senior program officer at the Fetzer Institute, a private operating foundation in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Since 2011, Xiaoan has actively participated in the exploration of building the spiritual foundation for a loving world, being responsible for the development of many project initiatives and the management of the full life cycle of the project process within the areas of social and emotional learning, spiritual literacy and education, spiritual formation and the role of communities, spiritual development of children and youth, workplace spirituality, leadership development, and so forth.

Prior to his working at the Fetzer Institute, Xiaoan has assumed numerous teaching and leadership positions in educational institutions in both China and the United States. As a Teaching Fellow, he has taught several courses, including Diversity in U.S. Higher Education, Chinese Language and Culture, and International Education at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) for four years. He also worked once as an Associate Faculty at Indiana University. While in China, Xiaoan served as faculty and director of English as a Foreign Language (EFL) program at the China University of Geosciences Beijing (CUGB) from 1998-2001. He also once served as assistant president of the Meijia Education Group, a private and elite educational company in Beijing. From 2001 to 2005, Xiaoan was president and Chief-Teaching-Officer (CTO) at the Beijing Global Times Language Training School.
