Tom is a Senior Consultant and Advisor at Techné Verde, a research and consulting group based in San Francisco and New York. He provides consulting and advisory services to non-profit and philanthropic clients, specializing in knowledge management, organizational development, and cross-organizational collaboration on social justice and sustainability issues.

Prior to 2013, he was Global Head of Knowledge Management for the Open Society Foundations, where he led a project to develop and implement an open source collaboration platform called KARL that is currently used by 15 international organizations including Oxfam GB, UN Environmental Program, and the European Foundation Centre.

Tom also has a strong background in financial management having been a consultant at Deloitte Consulting and the Controller of a major hotel operation in New York City.  He also served in the Peace Corps in western Russia where he established a regional NGO development center and lectured on various topics related to the transformation to the free-market economy.
