Ronald “Rey” Lynch, Jr. is an educator and sociologist of education concerned with social and cultural studies of education. His research and professional interests revolve around the liberation of Black and Brown students via holistic and culturally affirming educational practices and pedagogy. His time as an educator, in his childhood neighborhood, deeply drives his passion for ensuring that impoverished, Black and Brown students have an opportunity to learn in a way that capitalizes on the intelligences native to their cultural and ethnic communities. Currently, he is undertaking primary research exploring the cultural loss of successful students of color within white hegemonic spaces.

Additionally, Rey is an alumnus of the illustrious Morehouse College.
