Gabriel’s passion for education grew from endless questions about community and cultural development. As an undergraduate student at Amherst College, he studied various aspects of education – from history to current policy. Gabriel was involved with his college’s community engagement programs, education professional development organizations, and Inside-Out classes (in conjunction with a national program working to bring classroom experiences to correctional facilities for both college and incarcerated students). His time in various classrooms, paired with his research and years of experience working closely with youth at Culver Summer Schools and Camps, has helped him become an energetic and engaging instructor who recognizes that he is continually learning alongside his students.
